Babergh District Council covers an area located in South Suffolk which is predominately rural in nature and encompasses the market towns of Hadleigh and Sudbury.

Babergh delivers services to 87,000 residents and 3,400 Council properties in the District, either directly or by employing others to act on its behalf.

Since 2013 Babergh and Mid Suffolk District Councils have been working together to deliver services and share a Chief Executive, management team and joint workforce who work across both authorities but remain two separate sovereign councils.
